We all have places in our homes, apartments, workplaces, that just get stale and forgotten. Maybe you see the problems or flaws in those spaces and make plans to fix them. Maybe you actually get around to making changes and fixing problem areas. If you’re anything like me, you too often let these things become the norm, ignoring the flaws, and they somehow disappear until you’re having in-laws over, a birthday gathering, or someone points them out. Believe me…this is where I tend to live my life while running a business with 4 little kids and a husband!

Render Dwell was launched from a longtime dream. A dream to help people fall in love with the places they dwell. For some, the goal is to fall back in love with those places that are forgotten and neglected. Everyone deserves a living room that’s cozier, a kitchen that’s cleaner and more efficient, an entryway that makes guests say “wow”, a bathroom that’s easy to keep organized…that’s the goal and I’m chasing after it with everything I’ve got. All it takes is some vision and the motivation to make a change.

I want to share a home makeover before and after from a client in Raleigh, NC. After all, we are a 100% virtual design business, so we live and die by our before and afters. We took a photo from their listing, and I can’t say enough how great it feels to transform a white, empty space into a cozy cottage for these new homeowners! They wanted a cozy, rustic design, so we brought in accents of wood for the floors, ceiling beam, and some of the furniture. We used painted shiplap as an accent wall, and a mirror to open up the narrow room. Embellishing the design with throw pillows, rug, and greenery showed the client how warm and soft the final space can be.

No matter how much we love a whole home makeover and renovation, sometimes all you need is a cosmetic refresh to bring a stale space back to life! We hope this space inspires you and gives you your own home remodel ideas!
