Dwelling Places

Over the years, my workplaces have taken on so many roles, and have changed significantly. Right after Zach and I got married, I spent the majority of my day in a corporate office, and just a few waking hours in our tiny apartment. Our corporate office was sleek, functional, and beautiful in so many ways. It was comfortable and bright at 6am, and still productive and inviting at happy hour. After all, we were in the industry of designing corporate offices for others, so creating a livable, workable, enjoyable office space for ourselves was a top priority.

Fast forward to today, and I’m working from my home office, where I’ve fashioned a cozy little nook in the loft of my home. My top priority was this: to have a defined, tidy space that didn’t get overrun by toys or clothes. I wasn’t asking for much, just a place to enter and settle into “work mode”, and to step out and become wife and mom again.

Yes - it’s all mental, but intentional design is key to achieving any workplace goals. At Render Dwell, we truly believe that workplaces are dwelling places, and deserve the same kind of care and attention as you would give your home.

I want to share a workplace makeover before and after from a client in Fishers, IN. Since we are a 100% virtual design business, we live and die by our before and afters! We collaborated on this project with our talented friend Courtney at Woodfill Home + Interiors, and can’t say enough how much we love working with other industry professionals to help visualize designs for their clients. This project involved taking an existing retail space and transforming it into an Aveda salon. The budget was tight, but that didn’t keep the design from being clean, warm, and bright. Furnishings were kept to a minimum, and still exuded the luxury that every client wants to feel when they go to get pampered at the salon.

We love our commercial designs just as much as our residential designs. Each and every home and workplace is a dwelling place that deserves an intentional design touch. Sometimes all you need is a cosmetic refresh to bring a stale space back to life, and sometimes a full renovation is in order.

Whether you are a homeowner, business owner, or a fellow industry professional, we want you to know that Render Dwell is here for you, and we would love to help design and visualize your next project. The process couldn’t be easier, and we are ready to jump right in!
